Sensei Mike Nichols
7th. Degree Black Belt, Renchi
Sensei Mike Nichols has been in Yoshu-Kai Karate for over 40 years, starting at age 5. Sensei Nichols achieved his Black Belt in Yoshu-Kai at the age of 12. He received his Shihan Degree on Oct.26,1990, and on Sept. 14, 2002 received his Renchi Degree , becoming only one of five individuals currently active with this degree.(Sensei Nichols, Renchi DJ Nichols, Renchi Don Purdue, and Renchi Lee Norwood the other four). Sensei Nichols has been a certified Karate Instructor through International Karate Federation and has been teaching for over 35 years. He has also been a member of the Ironworkers Local 92 since 1981 a JIW.
Sensei Nichols has won many championships in heavy weight, light heavy weight and super heavy weight division, including 8 Alabama State Championships, and was also a regionally and nationally ranked fighter.
He has competed all over the United States including Puerto Rico. Sensei Nichols was on the Coors Karate team in 1985, and on World American Airline Karate team from 1986 through 1989.
